Summary |
Philosophy doctoral student Clara has to assert herself in the academic world of a Berlin university. Her professor Margot supports her but seems exhausted by university life. Clara lives in a shared apartment, while her pubescent daughter, Emma, mostly lives with her father. Clara keeps her boyfriend Max a secret from her daughter. Because Max is Clara's student, no one at the university knows that they are a couple, so they only ever meet at a hotel. One weekend, Clara, who grew up in the GDR, travels with her daughter to a family celebration in Brandenburg. Clara feels like an outsider in her home village, the older men in town are threatened by her intelligence, and her mother keeps her silence when Clara asks questions. Annika Pinske's debut film TALKING ABOUT THE WEATHER, is about a woman's search for belonging and an inner home. Source: DVD. |
