Summary |
Three continents, three conflicts, and three young women who are courageously working for a better future. Pepper wants to keep her real name secret when she fights for democratic rights in Hong Kong. As freedom of the press demonstrates, she is threatened with police violence or arrest. Pepper risks a lot for a life of freedom - she hides her activist life from her family so as not to endanger them, and their loving relationship breaks down due to fear of state repression. The Chilean Rayen is also confronted with water cannons, tear gas and dangerous rubber bullets during the protests for social justice and democracy in Santiago and yet does not want to give in. Hilda is waging a quieter but vocal battle in Uganda. Since her parents lost their livelihood as farmers as a result of severe weather disasters, she has been committed to combating climate change. As the founder of the Ugandan section of "Fridays for Future", she speaks at the World Climate Conference in Copenhagen. DEAR FUTURE CHILDREN is a documentary about governments that don't want to listen and a young generation that fights back and consistently stands up for existential rights. Source: DVD |
